Integrating Microsoft Outlook with SharkVault is very simple and will allow you to easily check your SharkVault Email Archive without requiring a separate login to your SharkVault URL.


Note: your.sharkvault.domain is supplied by MailShark SharkVault support. Please raise a MailShark SharkVault support case to query your URL.


Simply follow the steps defined below:

  1. Start your Microsoft Outlook client
  2. Make a new folder, eg. "EmailArchive"
  3. Right click on it, then select "Properties", and the "Home Page" tab
  4. Select or check the "Show home page by default for this folder" checkbox
  5. Enter the URL of the SharkVault GUI, eg. http://your.sharkvault.domain/
  6. Click on the "Apply" and then the "OK" button
  7. Click the "EmailArchive" folder in Microsoft Outlook
  8. Sign in with your SharkVault account and click "Submit"
  9. You can now view your Archived emails in Microsoft Outlook

The following screen snapshots were taken with Microsoft Outlook 2010.


1. start your Microsoft Outlook client


2. Make a new folder, eg. "EmailArchive"

Notes:


Step 4 may be greyed out on some Microsoft Outlook clients


If this is the case for your client, we have supplied the "Outlook Archive 2007" and "Outlook Archive 2010" registry keys as attachments to this article.


Simply download the registry key, click on it within Windows. This will add the correct key for your Microsoft Outlook client. Close Microsoft Outlook and Restart Microsoft Outlook, then proceed back to Step 4.


Can I have Microsoft Outlook automatically login to SharkVault when clicking on the "EmailArchive" folder?

Yes, this requires single sign-on facilities from SharkVault to your LDAP/Active Directory server. Please email MailShark Support for assistance.
